We’ve combined our loves of FOOD, ORGANIZING, and DECLUTTERING into one yummy activity!

With the holidays and holiday meals fast approaching, now is the perfect time to organize AND declutter while you cook!

As you think of ideas for dishes to make, look through your pantry and spice rack for those rarely used ingredients you have stored away.

Now is the perfect time to be creative and come up with new ideas to make use of everything you have!

Why not think globally?

Think outside the box.  Be inspired by your ingredients and look up cuisines that feature what you already have, in new ways you may have never considered.

Let the ingredients guide you.

There are so many areas to choose from! Here are just a few to get you started:

Asian
Asia is known for its many rice and noodle dishes. Varying ingredients makes for some delicious meals. Common ingredients include rice, ginger, garlic, sesame seeds, chilies, dried onions, soy, and tofu. Stir frying, steaming, and deep frying are common cooking methods.

French
Some favorites of French cuisine include Coq au Vin and Beef Bourguignon. The French rely heavily on butter and cream for rich sauces. Other ingredients often used include wine, cheese, mustard, and herbs de Provence. For a healthier twist, there is always Salad Niçoise.

Greek
Since olive trees are abundant in Greece, they are a major part of their dishes. Other flavors that are often included in Greek dishes are oregano, lemon, olive oil, feta cheese, and tomatoes.

Indian
Indian dishes get their unique flavors from various spices that include curry powder, cardamom, and cumin. To balance some of the flavors, you will notice that a dairy component is added to the dishes.

Italian
Who doesn’t enjoy a slice of pizza or some pasta? Many Italian foods include fresh basil, olive oil,  balsamic vinegar, oregano, Parmesan cheese, pine nuts, Mozzarella cheese and tomatoes.

Tex-Mex
Mexican cuisine has been Americanized so that more accessible ingredients can be used. These ingredients include cheddar cheese, black beans, and canned tomatoes. Make sure to include cumin, cilantro, avocado, hot sauce, and chili powder for some bold flavor.
